Diagnosis: Lattice shell spherical, ovoid, or balloon-shaped. In balloon-shaped individuals, pyramids and their apical spines longer on the blunt than the pointed end. Apical spines thick, unbranched, with a weakly thorny, inflated termination.

Length: 4.0-5.5 mm.
