(Cifelli, 1961)

This species and Neogloboquadrina dutertrei seem to intergrade, although they are normally restricted to different water masses. The non-spinose Neogloboquadrina incompta used here instead of Neogloboquadrina pachyderma (right coiling) because of wall structure (pustules on surface, no ridge growth), and distribution pattern (preferentially in temperate to warm waters), thus different from Neogloboquadrina pachyderma which usually builds calcite crust. In the literature, Neogloboquadrina incompta is often described as Neogloboquadrina pachyderma right coiling, as well as forms which intengrate into Neogloboquadrina dutertrei.

Ref.: Cifelli (1961, 1973), Oberhänsli et al. (1992).

Distribution: As opposed to Neogloboquadrina pachyderma left coiling, a typical subpolar to polar species, Neogloboquadrina incompta dwells in temperate to subtropical waters. Distribution map Neogloboquadrina pachyderma r refers to a data set of Pflaumann et al. (1996), where these authors used a different definition: Neogloboquadrina pachyderma right coiling and intergrades. Thus, this map displays mostly Neogloboquadrina incompta, but may also include forms allied to Neogloboquadrina dutertrei.

Remark: = Neogloboquadrina pachyderma (right coiling). or = Globoquadrina pachyderma (right coiling)
