Semper, 1868

H. (Acanthotrapeza) coluber is a black sea cucumber with white papillae and 20 yellow tentacles. It is a long (500-600 mm) species with a firm, thick body wall, and a tough tegument. Spicules include spinose 'cup and saucer' tables and rosettes (H. coluber spicules, H. coluber spicules 2). H. coluber is found on reefs, usually with its posterior wedged below rocks on reef flats.
