Body with a distinct median lateral groove. Prostomium rounded quadrangular, with an unclear incision in the posterior edge of the prostomium. 4 relatively small eyes. Prostomium with 3 antennae and 2 annulated palps, as long as the lateral antennae and with 2 rings.
Lateral antennae threadlike and a little longer than the prostomium. Median antenna half the size of the lateral antennae.
Between 6-8 pairs of annulated tentacular cirri.
Dorsal tentacular cirri of the second segment the longest, reaching to segment 12-18. Ventral cirri of the third segment the shortest and reaching to 5-7th segment. Segment 5 without notopodia or dorsal chaetae; only with dorsal aciculae. Following parapodia biramous.
Dorsal cirri annulated and of equal size. Ventral cirri simple.
Noto- and neuropodia conical, the notopodia much smaller. Dorsal chaetae of 3 types; many capillary chaetae, 1-6 slightly curved smooth acicular chaetae and in the lower part of the bundle some finely serrated chaetae.
Notopodia only with 2 or 3 aciculae on the basis of the dorsal cirri.
Pygidium rounded with 2 very long cirri.
Pharynx with 35-80 fringed terminal papillae, without jaws.

Body up to 11 mm for 36 segments.

Transparent. Dark brown pigmented spots, dorsal and ventral on posterior side of the parapodia.
