Etymology:

This species was named after Dr. Klaus Ruetzler, Invertebrate Zoologist, National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, for his extensive investigations on Twin Cays mangrove ecology, his patience, advice, encouragement, and generous support of microbial ecology investigations (Faust, 1990b).
