Description: Length up to 240 mm, pale orange. Carapace with a distinct postcervical groove and longitudinal spinose keels. Rostrum long and spinose. Abdomen with transverse grooves. Eyes very large, well-pigmented and kidney-shaped, broader than the stalks. First legs with very long, slender, keeled chelae.
Habitat: In shallow burrows in soft sediments; sublittoral to depths of 800 metres.
Distribution: From Norway and Iceland to Morocco and Mediterranean. |
