Female body asymmetrically oval. Pereion segments distinct, pereiopods small. Female pleon segments all distinct; pleopods present only as 5 pairs of raised ridges; uropods lacking. Oostegites 1, large, remainder smaller and divergent.
Females up to 11 mm, males up to 2.5 mm.

In the branchial cavity of prawns, typically infects Spirontocaris species and Hippolyte varians .

Recorded from Plymouth and the Isle of Man; circumpolar.
