Maximum carapace length about 34 mm. Surface of carapace armed with prominent spines of symmetrical arrangement, no spinules besides these; pseudorostral spine with an accessory spinule; rostral spine about half as long as pseudorostral spines. Chelipeds of male shorter than the following ambulatory legs. Merus of second to fourth pereiopods armed with large spines on anterior and posterior borders. Proximoventral corner of propodus of fifth pereiopods not produced, whole ventral border provided with spines. (Türkay 1995)

Type locality: Tosa Bay, Japan.
Range: Japan - Tosa Bay (Sakai, 1961, 1976a), Sagami Bay, Kii Nagashima, and Kii Minabe (Sakai, 1976a), Taichi, Kii Peninsula (Miyake, 1983), Wagu and Kii Nagashima (Guinot & Richer de Forges, 1995); 15-50 m.
