Carapace covered to a variable extent with medium sized granules, sometimes central areas totally devoid of granules, branchial regions with distinct raised clumps of granules; front deflexed, constricted between bases of ocular peduncles, with smooth margins, slightly bilobed or straight distally, median furrow shallow; lateral margins posteriorly convergent, 2 well defined and 1 faint antero-lateral teeth. Ocular peduncles long and narrow, cornea extending to tip of external orbital angle. Central region of epistome with a protuberance. Merus of third maxilliped markedly smaller than ischium. Palm of male cheliped elongate, outer face with very large, evenly spaced, rounded tubercles in upper half, the lowest tubercles largest and forming a row, inner face densely hairy except proximal and lower region, a large spine present near to carpus articulation; immovable finger markedly deflexed in adults, cutting edge with a long, low, crenulate tooth and a few granules; cutting edge of dactylus proximally with a low tooth formed from 4-5 granules. Meri of ambulatory legs hairy. (Türkay 1995)
