de Man, 1895

Carapace without transverse ridges or lines on cardiac and intestinal regions, transverse ridges on branchial regions rather straight, cervical groove not deeply cut and not long in branchial regions; lateral margins sharply keeled throughout their length, parallel or slightly diverging backwards, antero-lateral margin perfectly straight. Epistome well defined. Upper border of buccal cavern m-shaped, not confluent with epistome, its antero-lateral corner broadly rounded, a strongly curved sharp keel extending from that corner backwards. Sternite of the chelipeds not pubescent. Lower margin of merus of ambulatory legs distinctly dentate at their distal extremity. (Türkay 1995)

Range: Tanzania - Dar es Salaam (Hartnoll, 1975); Mozambique - Delagoa Bay (Barnard, 1947, 1950); South Africa - Natal coast (Barnard, 1947, 1950); Madagascar - Nosy Komba, Ile Chesterfield and Ile Juan de Nova (Crosnier, 1965); Mauritius (Michel, 1964); Sumatra - Banda Aceh (de Man, 1895b, 1898); Japan - Northern Daito-jima (Sakai, 1939), Hachijo-jima (Sakai, 1954), Ishigaki-jima and N. and S. Daito-jima (Sakai, 1976a), Kuroshima, Yaeyama-retto (Miyake, 1983), Takara-jima (Muraoka, 1998); Taiwan; Indonesia - Tanahjampea, Flores Sea (Tesch, 1918a).
