Monotypic genus, description of genus repeated:
Carapace oblong, its entire surface covered with short bristles; lateral borders with seven teeth; front bidentate, median sinus deep. A triangular projection of the basal antennal segment fills up the inner hiatus of the orbit. Chelipeds and ambulatory legs coarsely spinous. Chelipeds of both sides similar (homochelous), much shorter than subsequent ambulatory legs. All joints of these last ones robust and flattened. (Türkay 1995)

Type locality: Unalaska, Aleutian Islands.
Range: Japan - Kinkazan, Inubo-zaki, off Kinosaki, west of Noto, north-east of Sado and Oma-zaki, Tsugaru Strait (Yokoya, 1933), Sendai Bay, Kanazawa and Fukui Prefecture (Sakai, 1939), Muroran, Oshamanbe, Kamaishi, Onahama, and Mikuni (Sakai, 1976a), Yamagata Prefecture (Suzuki S., 1979), Hokkaido (Miyake, 1983), Soya Strait (Takeda & Miyauchi, 1992), Funka Bay, Usu, Akkeshi and off Kitami (Komai et al., 1992); Korea - Genzan (Sakai, 1939), Nanam, Yanghwa, Wonsan, Gojeo, Jangjeon, Uljin, and Pohang (Kamita, 1941), Sogcho (Kim, 1970, 1973).
