Type species: Viminella flagellum (Johnson, 1864)

Total number of species estimated: 10.

Description: Colonies mostly unbranched, whiplike. Sometimes one or two side branches present. Colonies red, orange. Sclerites are double heads and spindles. Zooxanthellae absent.

Habitat: reef slopes.

Range: Atlantic, Indo-Pacific.
