Genera: Eight genera are found in the shallow waters of the Indo-West Pacific:
Genus Acanthastrea Acanthastrea echinata (1),
Genus Australomussa Australomussa rowleyensis (1) ,
Genus Blastomussa Blastomussa wellsi (1),
Genus Cynarina Cynarina lacrymalis (1),
Genus Echinomorpha Echinomorpha nishihirai (1),
Genus Lobophyllia Lobophyllia corymbosa (1) ,
Genus Scolymia Scolymia vitiensis (1),
Genus Symphyllia Symphyllia agaricia (1).

Description: Corals free living, semi-buried (Cynarina); or forming massive colonies, with calices conical (Blastomussa) or immersed (Acanthastrea); or fleshy with short tentacles (Australomussa, Echinomorpha, Lobophyllia, Scolymia, Symphylllia).
