Type species: Paraminabea indica Thomson and Henderson, 1905

Total number of species estimated: 9

Description: Colonies digitiform, with short stalk and tapered polyparium, sometimes sparsely branched. Polyps dimorphic. Sclerites are capstans and derivations of capstans. Colour of colonies red, orange, yellow. Zooxanthellae absent.

Habitat: As well shallow (in caves) as deeper water.

Range: Widespread in Indo-Pacific.
