Hooks: 17-18; anterior teeth: 6-8; posterior teeth: 0-1.
Maximum adult body length: 13 mm; tail: 56 %.
Body firm opaque; transversal musculature on trunk and tail; head wide; hooks not serrated. Fin bridge absent; one pair of medium length lateral fins both on trunk and tail; lateral fins partially rayed, very few fin rays, rounded. Collarette absent; gut diverticula absent; eyes absent. Seminal vesicles conical; position of seminal vesicles: touching posterior fins separated from tail fin. Ovaries very short; ova fairly small. Adhesive papillae and adhesive organs absent. Vestibular organs small with one row of papillae; apical gland cell complex present; neck canals absent.

Distribution: bathypelagic.

Remarks: 1 specimen found between 1000 and 2350 m in the Antarctic Ocean (Atlantic sector).

Type locality: 60°49.2'S, 55°11.4'W.
