Description Hooks: 7-8; anterior teeth: 6-9; posterior teeth: 10-15. Maximum adult body length: 12 mm; tail: 27-28 %. Body firm, opaque; transversal musculature absent; head wide; hooks not serrated. Fin bridge absent. Anterior fins of medium length, fully rayed, rounded; posterior fins of medium length, fully rayed, angular. Collarette long; gut diverticula present. Small eyes, with T-shaped pigment spot. Seminal vesicles with knob and trunk; position of seminal vesicles: touching both posterior fins and tail fin. Ovaries long, reaching neck region; ova small. Adhesive papillae and adhesive organs absent. Apical glands absent.
Distribution: epipelagic; Indo-Pacific, between 30°N and 30°S.
