Casanova, 1990

Hooks: 8-10; anterior teeth: 4-6; posterior teeth: none.
Maximum adult body length: 6 mm; tail: 46-51 %.
Body firm and muscular; transversal musculature on trunk; head wide; hooks not serrated. Fin bridge absent; one pair of short lateral fins both on trunk and tail; lateral fins fully rayed, rounded. Collarette long; gut diverticula present; eyes large, with star-shaped pigment spot. Seminal vesicles crescent shaped; position of seminal vesicles: touching both posterior fins and tail fin. Ovaries long, reaching to neck region; ova fairly large. Adhesive papillae present; irregular shaped adhesive appendages present; apical glands absent.

Distribution: benthic neritic; southern Japanese waters.

Remarks: 18 specimen known.

Type locality: Reihoku, Amakusa, South Japan.
