Hooks: 7-11; anterior teeth: 2; posterior teeth: 0-4.
Maximum adult body length: 4 mm; tail: 49 %.
Body slender; transversal musculature on trunk wide; head wide; hooks not serrated. Fin bridge absent; one pair of short lateral fins both on trunk and tail; lateral fins fully rayed, rounded. Collarette long; gut diverticula absent; large eyes with rectangular pigment. Seminal vesicles crescent shaped; position of seminal vesicles: touching both posterior fins and tail fin. Ovaries of medium length, near posterior end of ventral ganglion. Ovaries immature. Adhesive papillae present; adhesive organs with adhesive appendages absent.

Distribution: benthic neritic; circumglobal between 40°N and 40°S.


Type locality: Orkney Islands.
