Description: Zoanthid with a highly flattened oral disc, up to 3.2 cm in diameter. Outer edge of the oral disc fringed by short tentacles (P. grandis-close up). The edges of the polyp are often curled inward. Several specimens may grow in close proximity, but do not form mats.
Color: Oral disc green to brown, often somewhat mottled; tentacles brown.
Habitat: Attached to rocky substrates, usually somewhat sheltered, form 12 to 40 m.
Distribution: Uncommon Caribbean.
