Description (shell);
Shell similar to that of Aporrhais pespelecani , though generally smaller and more delicate; adult shells distinguished by the shape of the palmate outer lip, which projects beyond the shell apically and does not curve upward basally (A. serresianus).

Size:
Up to 3.8 x 2.4 cm.

Colour:
White.

Animal:
As in Aporrhais pespelecani but has a different colour pattern: on head a median white line on red background; tentacles with a central white line, no red colour.

Habitat:
Sublittoral, on fine mud down to 1000 m.

Distribution:
Distributed from Mediterranean to northern Norway and Iceland (Distr. A. serresianus).
