Description
Hooks: 12; anterior teeth: 15-17; posterior teeth: 18-20.
Maximum adult body length: 19 mm; tail: 54 %.
Body slender and firm; transversal musculature on trunk; head fairly wide; hooks not serrated. Fin bridge absent; one pair of short lateral fins both on trunk and tail; lateral fins fully rayed, rounded. Collarette short; gut diverticula absent; no eyes. Seminal vesicles conical; position of seminal vesicles: touching neither posterior fins nor tail fin. Ovaries long, thin; ova small. Adhesive papillae present; adhesive organs with adhesive appendages absent; apical glands absent. Vestibular organs simple with small papillae; apical gland cell complex present; neck canals present.

Distribution: benthopelagic; North Atlantic.

Remarks: 2 specimens from about 1800 m and 2200 m.

Type locality: 33°17'N, 118°37'W.
