Description
Hooks: 10-11; anterior teeth: 5-6; posterior teeth: 3-5.
Maximum adult body length: 8 mm; tail: 35-38 %.
Body large and firm, opaque; transversal musculature on trunk and tail; head wide; hooks not serrated. Fin bridge absent; one pair of medium length lateral fins both on trunk and tail; lateral fins fully rayed, rounded. Collarette long and narrow; gut diverticula absent; eyes absent. Seminal vesicles conical; position of seminal vesicles: touching both posterior fins and tail fin. Ovaries short; ova fairly small. Adhesive papillae and adhesive organs absent. Vestibular organs small with one row of papillae; apical gland cell complex present; neck canals absent.

Distribution: bathypelagic;

Remarks: 11 specimens found at about 1300 m in the East Pacific.

Type locality: 33°17'N, 118°37'W.
